AMC International Networks Iberia is partnering with many2many programming service Machinima to launch a gaming, eSports and heros SVOD channel for Spain and Portugal.
The channel will be available via pay TV, smart TVs and iOS/Android apps and feature programming produced by Machinima, including Street Fighter: Resurrection, eSports reality show Training Camp and the forthcoming Transformers: The Combiner Wars.
“This partnership enables us to offer our clients the opportunity to reach millennials, a community passionate about video games, animation, movies, TV and other forms of pop culture, who will find in this channel their main entertainment source,” said Eduardo Zulueta, president of AMC Networks International Iberia and Latin America. “We understand that users of this kind of content are used to consuming it on demand, so an SVOD is more appropriate for this target than lineal television,” Zulueta told The Hollywood Reporter.
AMC Networks International Iberia operates a portfolio of 22 channels including AMC, A&E, Crimen + Investigación and Historia in Spain and Portugal.
